Ben is a GP Fellow and completed his medical training in Christchurch more than ten years ago before moving to Auckland in search of brighter city life and, as he jokes, better hospital food. With an engineer and a teacher for parents, he naturally enjoys solving complex medical problems and explaining them in clear, simple ways.

He has worked across the Auckland region from Browns Bay to Waiuku and the CBD, and he has also taught in the Auckland Medical Programme, previously serving as its Director of Student Affairs. Ben speaks Bahasa Melayu and is experienced in prescribing PrEP.

Outside of work, Ben can usually be found fine-tuning his home karaoke setup. He has even picked up some accidental IT skills along the way while troubleshooting it.

Because I have an engineer and a teacher as my parents, I find joy in both unpacking complex medical problems and explaining them in simple terms.
