Frequently asked questions

How do I pay for my appointment?
Enrolled patients:
If you enrolled with Tend directly, you’ll need to pay for your appointment using a credit or debit card in the Tend app. This is our secure in-app payment method. We use bank-grade security and all payment details are encrypted for your protection.

Casual patients:
If you’re visiting as a casual patient (not enrolled), you’ll also need to pay by credit or debit card through the Tend app.

Patients from acquired clinics:
If you were part of a clinic that has recently joined Tend, you may still be able to pay in person using credit/debit card, cash or bank transfer.
Why are the fees different for different locations?
Your fees are based on the location of your enrolment, which is usually the closest Tend clinic to your residing address. We receive different funding for different clinics based on their geographic location. You can check what your enrolment location is in the Tend app under 'Account'.

One of the benefits of Tend is that you are welcome to visit any of the Tend clinics in your region. The fee you pay will be based on your enrolled location fee schedule.
How do I enrol for cheaper fees?
It takes just three minutes to enrol via the app, and we take care of all the paperwork, including the transfer of your health records from your existing medical practice. Records transfer is a secure electronic process overseen by Te Whatu Ora.

Once enrolled you will have access to a wider range of Tend benefits including health checks, screening reminders and ordering repeats.

Enrolling means our doctors and nurses become your main contact for your primary healthcare needs. Once enrolled, you enjoy cheaper pricing and children under 14 years are free.

You can only enrol with one GP practice at a time.
