Geraldine was inspired to pursue medicine by a desire to do meaningful work that supports people and their wellbeing. She trained at Auckland Medical School before moving to the UK, where she completed her GP training with the Royal College of General Practitioners. After returning to New Zealand, she became a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.

She enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a strong interest in mental wellbeing and additional training in evidence-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Geraldine values working with individuals and families across generations and places importance on clear, accessible communication so patients can better understand their health and options.

She enjoys the variety and creativity of general practice and values taking time to listen, understand each person’s story and work together on practical ways to improve health and wellbeing.

Outside of work, Geraldine enjoys spending time with her family, keeping active with her children’s sports and friends, cold water swimming, gardening, reading and travelling. She also makes the most of any opportunity to visit the Coromandel.

I enjoy the creativity of General Practice, as each patient is unique. It is a privilege to listen to their story and concerns, understand their perspective, and work together to improve their health and wellbeing.
