Dr Julie is a GP at Tend Waltham. From a young age, Julie always knew she wanted to become a doctor. She completed her medical studies at Ghent University in Belgium, where she developed a strong interest in family medicine for its variety and the opportunity to build long-term, trusting relationships with patients.

Her areas of interest include chronic disease management, mental health, paediatrics, and women’s health. Julie enjoys partnering with patients to create personalised care plans that support their overall wellbeing and reflect what matters most to them.

Julie and her husband, Dr Mil (Tend Beckford) recently relocated from Belgium to New Zealand drawn by their shared love of nature and adventure. Outside of work, she enjoys running, skiing, racket sports and is keen to improve her squash game while exploring the natural beauty of the South Island.

I believe family medicine allows me to connect with patients in a truly personal way. I enjoy getting to know what matters to them and using that understanding to create care plans that genuinely fit their lives.
