Melanie McDowall
Melanie has always wanted to become a Registered Nurse. After initially working as a dental assistant, she eventually followed her passion and completed her Bachelor of Nursing at Southern Institute of Technology alongside her daughter. She has a particular interest in immunisations, cervical screening, sexual health and women’s health.
Her interest in epidemiology during her nursing studies also sparked a passion for communicable diseases and prevention. For Melanie, building genuine therapeutic relationships with patients is one of the most rewarding parts of nursing. She enjoys taking the time to listen and support her patients and appreciates knowing that she has made a positive difference to their experience.
Outside of work, Melanie enjoys reading, watching movies, going for daily walks to stay active and spending time with her family
