Drawn to the combination of a challenging programme and an active lifestyle, Dr Mil began his medical studies alongside training to be come an officer in the military. He later graduated from Ghent University in Belgium and is fluent in English, Dutch, French and German.

His areas of interest include prevention, particularly obesity, active lifestyle, cardiovascular health, diabetes and sports medicine. Mil enjoys keeping a balance across all aspects of medicine.

He values the trust built with patients over time and finds it rewarding to care for people through both everyday concerns and more serious health challenges.

Having recently relocated to New Zealand with his wife, Dr Julie, who is also a GP at Tend Waltham, Mil is enjoying exploring Aotearoa and embracing everything the country has to offer.

Outside of the clinic, you'll find him trail running, cycling, hiking and being buried in a good history book.

The best part of being a doctor is building trust with people from all walks of life. I might see someone for something small and have a friendly chat, then later support them through a more serious issue - it’s that ongoing relationship that makes the work so meaningful.
