Sinead is a an online Health Improvement Practitioner at Tend. She qualified as a psychiatric nurse in Ireland in 2015 and has worked in addiction recovery and acute inpatient nursing before moving to New Zealand in 2019. Since then, she has worked in acute inpatient care, with the opioid treatment service under CADS, and for the past two years as a HIP.

Her areas of interest include addictions, motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT and fACT), Polyvagal Theory, and Compassion Focused Therapy. Sinead brings a strong background in addiction support and is particularly interested in approaches that foster self-understanding, resilience and compassion.

She enjoys helping people make small, positive changes that lead to meaningful improvements in their lives, providing a safe space where patients feel supported with tools to navigate challenges.

Outside of work, Sinead enjoys yoga, running, swimming, art, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. She's currently working towards her counselling accreditation and on her own wellbeing business.

I enjoy strengthening those around us with tools that can help us to understand and navigate life a little better. Providing a safe space for people, and meeting them with kindness and compassion.
