Susan is a General Practitioner at Tend Linwood. She completed her Diploma in Children’s Health while training at Tauranga Hospital and gained extensive experience working in secondary and tertiary hospitals across Aotearoa. Initially training in anaesthesia, she found her true passion in general practice, working closely with “awake” patients.

Susan has a special interest in paediatrics and family medicine. She values the broad scope of general practice, which allows her to support families throughout their health journeys.

As a mother of two young children, Susan understands the challenges modern families face and is committed to ensuring tamariki receive the care they need to grow and thrive.

She enjoys connecting with patients, helping them take small, positive steps toward better health, and appreciates the variety general practice offers.

Outside of medical practice, Susan spends time with her two scooter-loving preschoolers and enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and relaxing on sunny beaches. One of her favourite hikes is the Hump Ridge Track in Fiordland, where you can experience both surf beaches and alpine environments in a single day.

Our tamariki are our future and they are inherently vulnerable. It is so imperative that they have their health care needs met so that they can grow and flourish. As a mother of two young children I am aware of the challenges of modern parenting, and sensitive to the needs of families.
