Tylah’s passion for nursing was shaped by both personal experience and her community. Caring for her grandmothers during their end-of-life journeys deepened her desire to help others, while growing up in Ōtara, South Auckland gave her firsthand insight into the health inequities and barriers many whānau face when accessing care. She completed her Bachelor of Nursing at Manukau Institute of Technology in 2023.

Tylah has strong interests in youth and elderly health, sexual health, women’s health, immunisations and mental health. She is passionate about creating a safe, judgement-free space where patients feel comfortable discussing their health concerns and supported to make informed decisions about their wellbeing.

What she enjoys most about nursing is building meaningful, trusting relationships with patients and empowering them to take charge of their health in ways that work for them.

Outside of nursing, Tylah enjoys spending time with whānau and friends, exploring new food spots, getting outdoors, and watching NRL, especially supporting the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

As a practice nurse, what truly fulfils my day is the opportunity to build trustful, meaningful relationships with my patients. I take pride in creating a safe space where they feel comfortable sharing their health concerns, knowing they won’t be judged.
