When should I book my travel health appointment?
We recommend booking your travel health consultation 6–8 weeks before your departure date. Some vaccines require more than one dose and take time to become fully effective. If you’re travelling sooner, don’t worry – we can still provide tailored advice and last-minute protection where appropriate.
What travel vaccinations might I need?
The travel vaccines you need depend on your destination, planned activities, length of stay and current vaccination status. Common travel vaccinations include Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies.

What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring: your travel plans (flights, hotels, activities), any old vaccination records if you have them, a list of any medications you take and your passport.

The $139 consultation fee covers your appointment and personalised health advice. Travel vaccines are charged separately on a per-dose basis. We’ll give you clear pricing during your appointment before you decide, so there are no surprises.

Yes. Tend Symonds Street is an official Yellow Fever vaccination centre, which means we can administer the Yellow Fever vaccine and issue the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis that many countries require for entry.

Can I get malaria tablet prescriptions for travel?
Yes. Our travel doctors can prescribe antimalarial medication during your pre-travel health consultation. We’ll recommend the right malaria tablets based on your destination, length of stay and any other medications you take. Malaria tablets are particularly important for travel to parts of Africa and Southeast Asia.
