Urgent care is for accidents and sudden illnesses that need attention today but aren't a life-threatening emergency. It's an alternative to waiting at emergency departments - and a solution for those times when you can't get into your regular GP.

Based on the North Shore, just off the motorway - Tend Constellation Drive is open 7-days a week from 8am until 6:30pm - 5 Home Place, Rosedale.

How urgent care works

Visiting an urgent care clinic is simple. Here's what to expect when you arrive at Tend Constellation Drive.

Step 1 - Walk in

No appointment needed. Tend Constellation Drive is open 8am - 6:30pm, 7 days a week, with free parking onsite. You can see a walk in doctor any day - just turn up when you need us.

Step 2 - Nurse triage

A nurse will assess you when you arrive. More urgent cases are prioritised - so the sicker you are, the sooner you'll be seen.

Step 3 - See a doctor

Our doctors will assess, diagnose and treat you. Where needed, we can refer you for X-rays, dressings or plastering on site.‍

Step 4 - Collect your medication

Our on-site pharmacy is open 7 days, so if you are prescribed any medication you can collect your prescription before you head home.

Our urgent care clinic closes at 6:30pm, but our online doctors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via the Tend app - including evenings, weekends and overnight.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment for urgent care?

No. Tend Constellation Drive is a walk-in urgent care clinic. You don't need to book, just come in during opening hours and our nurse will triage you on arrival.

How much does urgent care cost?

The cost depends on a few factors: your age, whether your visit is ACC-related, and whether you're enrolled with Tend. Please note a $10 weekend surcharge applies for all patients seeing a doctor on Saturdays and Sundays. View our full fee schedule.

Is urgent care open on weekends?

Yes. We're open 7 days a week from 8am to 6:30pm, including weekends and most public holidays. If you need a weekend doctor in Auckland, just walk in - no booking required. Check the Tend Constellation Drive clinic page for any changes to hours.

Where is the urgent care clinic?

Tend Constellation Drive is located at 5 Home Place in Rosedale on Auckland's North Shore, conveniently positioned right where the motorways meet - easy to reach from Albany, Glenfield, Birkenhead, Takapuna, Browns Bay, and across the wider North Shore.

What about public transport and parking?

There is free parking available out the front of the building. The Constellation Bus Station (Stop 41385) is a 2-minute walk away.

Can I go to urgent care instead of the emergency department?

Yes. For many injuries and illnesses, our accident and medical clinic is a faster, more convenient option than waiting at an Auckland hospital emergency department.

Is there a pharmacy on site?

Yes. Our pharmacy is open 7 days alongside the clinic, so you can pick up your prescription straight after your appointment.

Can I get an X-ray at Tend Constellation Drive?

Yes. Radiology is available on site. During the week, X-rays are available during clinic hours. On Saturdays and Sundays, radiology is available from 11am to 3pm.

Do you treat fractures?

Yes. We can assess suspected fractures, arrange X-rays on site, and apply plaster casts where needed.

Is urgent care available to everyone, or only enrolled Tend patients?

Anyone can walk in to our urgent care clinic. You don't need to be a Tend enrolled patient.

Can I see a doctor after hours in Auckland?

Yes. While our clinic closes at 6:30pm, Tend offers after hours doctors in nationwide via our telehealth service. Our online GPs are available 24/7 through the Tend app, including evenings, overnight and weekends. It's the next best thing to an after hours clinic in Auckland - without the waiting room.
