Jill James

Jill is a Pharmacist Prescriber who brings over 12 years of clinical experience to the Tend team. She is passionate about medication management, ensuring patients receive the most appropriate medicines for their conditions.

Originally from central Canada, Jill traded -40℃ winters for the adventurous climate of New Zealand. In Auckland, she spent eight years at Middlemore Hospital, gaining experience in Cardiology, Respiratory, Infectious Diseases, and Maternity before specialising in General Medicine. After completing her prescriber studies, she moved to Christchurch to pursue a role in Primary Care.

In her spare time, Jill enjoys exploring New Zealand through hiking, snowboarding, and travelling. She loves sport, and is a national-level player and coach for Team Handball in NZ.

Jill works across many of our Tend Clinics and is dedicated to enhancing healthcare accessibility and health equity. She makes sure patients understand their health problems and how their medicines can work for them. She wants every patient to feel listened to, have their concerns addressed and their health looked after in a way that fits their personal goals.
