Kate is a Nurse Practitioner working across Tend South City and Tend Pāpāmoa. She has more than a decade of experience across primary care and emergency nursing. Her interest in long-term, community-based care led her to complete advanced training as a Designated Nurse Prescriber, followed by a Master’s degree to become a Nurse Practitioner.

She enjoys the breadth of primary care and working with people of all ages. Kate has a particular interest in diabetes management, having spent many years as a lead clinician supporting people with complex diabetes. She is also passionate about advocating for children and young people and providing equitable care, and has a growing interest in skin cancer, with plans to further train in dermoscopy and skin cancer medicine.

Kate values taking the time to understand what matters to patients and their whānau, ensuring care plans are practical and fit into everyday life.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two-year-old, walking their dog along the beach, getting out for a run, and relaxing with drawing and painting when time allows.

I enjoy getting to know patients and their whānau, taking the time to understand what matters to them and making sure health plans and decisions genuinely fit with their values and everyday lives.
